Iofemi Hightower, 20 was murdered in the infamous Newark Schoolyard Slayings 2007.

She was the very first female band captain at West Side High School after trying three times and working two jobs she was finally accepted to HSBC Delaware State University.

Sadly, she was murdered before she could even attend.

Her goals were to complete college and return to Newark, NJ and mentor youths.

Her passion was music, she loved to dance and enjoy her friends while fulfilling her goals. Her mother, Shalga P. Hightower endured 7 Years of Trials and became the face of the nationwide case.  She traveled to several cities and communities to tell her story and inspire others. Along with her Public Relations Manager and Journalist, Charmil Y. Davis decided to form 7 Years Later Films LLC, and 7 Years Later Foundation.

With ambitions, starting a professional music school Iofemi Hightower Music Center launched by Shalga for youth who inspire the arts such as instruments.

She feels that this will be a great way to give back to inner city youths through her daughter’s memory. 7 Years Later Foundation is an NJ registered Non-Profit Corporation entity: Arts and Entertainment  Davis formed 7 Years Later Films LLC, to document Shalga Hightower “Tragedy Heartbreak and Courage” entity: management and documentary. We are looking for investors who would be willing to help launch this unprecedented business.
